Being a parent is a big responsibility. As a dad I have a huge influence on my children's life. I am a leader, whether I like it or not. From me my children learn boundaries. They learn how to treat their spouse.

They learn acceptable social behaviours and they learn that I am not perfect.
I think it is fair enough to say that we can have a huge impact, positively or negatively, on who our children become. This is leadership.

I have been thinking about this over the last couple of weeks and feel very challenged to be a good leader to my kids.

One of the challenges with being a dad is that you need to back up your words with actions. I sometimes find myself becoming frustrated that my kids yell at each other too readily to resolve conflict. I then find myself yelling at them to stop speaking that way. Hmm, where did they learn that skill?

Being in business is the same. As a business owner, you set the tone for how your staff.
